A new coordinator has been hired for the Christian County Imagination Library.
The Hopkinsville-Christian County Public Library announced Megan Marsh as the local Dolly Parton Imagination Library Coordinator.
She is a graduate of Hopkinsville Community College and a news release says she has previous experience in event planning and fundraising and has recently been involved with United Way of the Pennyrile as a volunteer for the Foster Care and Youth Service Advisory Board.
The program allows children from birth to five years old in Christian County to receive an age-appropriate book in the mail each month at no cost and the program is paid for by the generosity of local businesses, government agencies, organizations and citizens.
Marsh is quoted as saying, “I am unbelievably honored to be able to make the words of Dolly Parton come to life: ‘The seeds of dreams are often found in books, and the seeds you help plant in your community can grow across the world.’”
The program averages approximately 3,400 children enrolled each month throughout the county.
