Cave-In-Rock Ferry resuming operations this morning

Repairs were completed quicker than expected on the Cave-In-Rock Ferry and the service is resuming operations Tuesday morning at 6.

That’s according to the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, which reports the repairs to a gearbox were finished about midnight.

The ferry transports motorists across the Ohio River from Crittenden County to Illinois and back.

It carries about 500 vehicles across the river on an average day.
