Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky claims another coronavirus stimulus bill must be “smart” and should include “real, targeted solutions.”
Opening the Senate, McConnell said Republicans are putting together a stimulus bill that focuses on “kids, jobs and healthcare.” McConnell acknowledged that the crisis is far from over.
He said the Republican stimulus bill would include direct payouts to Americans, but didn’t specify who would qualify and how much individuals would get.
He said the U.S. must “carve out a new normal.”
McConnell insisted that the economy cannot shut down again and said schools must start safely reopening.
