McConnell Reacts To Passing Of John Lewis

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky is reflecting on the life of John Lewis.

The Georgia Congressman died Friday at the age of 80 after a months-long battle with cancer.  McConnell said Lewis’ place “among of the giants of American history” was confirmed before being elected to Congress in 1986.

He noted Lewis helped found and lead the civil rights movement while enduring hatred and violence.  McConnell added the nation will never forget this American hero.
