A slow-moving torrential thunderstorm caused flash flooding Friday in Hopkinsville.
Water got inside a home on East 13th Street, according to Christian County Emergency Management Director Randy Graham, and water got up to a home on South Elm Street where the Hopkinsville Fire Department helped an elderly woman leave for to stay at another location until it receded.
Flood waters crept into an auto-repair business on Means Avenue.
Water covered streets in all of the usual low-lying areas and in some places that don’t normally see flooding.
The National Weather Service in Paducah issued a flash flood warning during the storm that also packed high winds responsible for downing part of a tree in the area of Coffman Foods on Greenville Road.
There were no reports of any injuries associated with the storm.
