A Christian County Grand Jury returned indictments for wanton endangerment and strangulation, along with a true no bill.
Indicted for first-degree strangulation, first-degree wanton endangerment, unlawful imprisonment, trafficking in marijuana and promoting contraband is 31-year old Brandon Murray of Hopkinsville. He is alleged to have attacked a female victim in May, after she asked him about a phone call that had occurred. He allegedly put his hands around her neck and strangled her, then struck her multiple times before breaking her phone so she couldn’t call for help. The victim was able to escape and go to a neighbor for help—she reportedly had multiple injuries around her neck, and on her chest, back and face from the incident.
Also indicted for first-degree wanton endangerment, along with fleeing or evading police and operating a vehicle on a suspended license is 31-year old Jonte Bailey, who allegedly led officers on a pursuit in October of 2018. Bailey allegedly passed several vehicles in a no passing zone at a high rate of speed.
The grand jury returned a no true bill for Michael Wayne Sivils, who had been charged with assault, but it is now dismissed without prejudice.
