Another minor tests positive for COVID-19 in Todd County

Another minor has tested positive for COVID-19 in Todd County and players on at least three sports teams in that school system have been quarantined in the past two weeks.

That’s according to the Todd County Health Department, which reports the 46th patient is connected to the 45th case and it is a healthy minor isolating at home with mild symptoms. The patient has been in quarantine since being tested and has a large number of contacts.

Six of Todd County’s cases are active and 40 are recovered.

Public Health Director Jen Harris says they are working very closely with Todd County School System Superintendent Mark Thomas and the athletics director to communicate with parents and players about quarantine as well as continuing to safely practice their sport safely.

She says the health department has indicators in place to help determine if the number of players who are infected warrant discontinuation of practices and those numbers have not yet been met.
