Kentucky gains 477 cases of COVID-19, 10 deaths

Kentucky gained another 477 cases of COVID-19 from Tuesday to Wednesday and Governor Andy Beshear announced 10 new deaths.

According to a news release, the overall total of cases in the state is at 20,677—there have been at least 498,179 coronavirus tests performed in Kentucky, putting the positivity rate at 4.62 percent. At least 5,475 Kentuckians have recovered from the virus.

Governor Beshear says the number of cases only continues to grow, and although it hasn’t reached dire circumstances just yet, it could easily become so if people get lax in abiding by health guidelines.

Ten more Kentuckians have died, including a 71-year old woman from Logan County, which makes that total 645 since the pandemic began. Governor Beshear reminded Kentuckians that the COVID-19 reporting hotline is available at 833-597-2337 and it will monitoring from 9 a.m. until 7 p.m. each day.

Tennessee saw another 2,273 new cases of COVID-19 in Wednesday’s update, putting that total at 69,061—there were 16 more deaths reported there, up to 783.  Montgomery County is at 906 cases, Robertson County is at 1,010 cases and Stewart County is now at 34 cases.
