High speed pursuit ends in Crofton with arrest

A Tennessee man who registered a blood alcohol content of over twice the legal limit was arrested following a high speed pursuit Tuesday night in Hopkinsville.

Christian County Sheriff’s Deputy Clevin Robinson attempted to stop 25-year old Cody Collins of Palmyra, Tennessee after Collins allegedly passed another vehicle in a no-passing zone on East Ninth Street.

An arrest citation says Collins made refused to stop, made several turns, drove into oncoming traffic at times and made his way north toward Crofton on Madisonville Road while reaching speeds of 100 mph. He struck two Christian County Sheriff’s Department cruisers before coming to a stop at a location on South Madisonville Street in Crofton.

No one was injured and Collins was arrested for fleeing or evading police, multiple counts of first-degree wanton endangerment, DUI, driving on a suspended license, criminal mischief and other charges.

The report says Collins registered a blood alcohol content of .173.
