The Todd County Board of Education approved a calendar for the upcoming school year Monday night that puts the first day for students on August 26.
That’s for in-person instruction and for the virtual academy and the calendar also includes a fall break from October 5-9.
School will look very different, as Superintendent Mark Thomas says students will be required to be wearing a mask and will have their temperature checked as they enter their building.
Their temperature will also be taken to board a school bus.
Thomas noted the district will have to work closely with the Todd County Health Department throughout the school year to assess COVID-19 spread levels through the community if any further decisions regarding schedules need to be made.
The Board also approved a memorandum of understanding with the Elkton Police Department, which will be providing a second school resource officer to the district during the upcoming school year.
