One person was killed in a single-vehicle accident early Monday morning in Hopkins County.
The Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office investigated and says the driver had been headed east on Jewell City Road when for unknown reasons he went off the side of the road and struck a tree.
His car then went into a pond, where it came to rest partially-submerged.
The driver, whose name has not been released, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Hopkins County Coroner’s Office.
