The accident Thursday night on Providence Boulevard in Clarksville that killed a pedestrian was a hit and run.
Clarksville police say it happened about 11 p.m. between Plum and Oak streets and that the vehicle fled the scene after striking the victim.
The victim has been identified as 77-year old Lilburn Evitts of Clarksville.
Police are asking the public’s help in locating a four-door car with damage to the passenger side front headlight area and anyone with information on the incident should call Clarksville Crime Stoppers at 931-645-TIPS. A person of interest that had been sought turned himself in and was cleared of any wrongdoing, according to police.
