Downtown Hopkinsville will be open for business Thursday afternoon, with the first Downtown Stroll, Sip and Shop taking place starting at 4 p.m. on Sixth Street.
This event typically starts in March for Women’s History Month, but was postponed this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Coordinator Holly Boggess says they’re eager to have the event—which has been scaled back some for health reasons—and there will food vendors, businesses having deals and more.
She says there will be numerous activities happening on site, and downtown businesses and restaurants will be open for people to enjoy.
Boggess says there will be chance to win prizes and she’s hopeful that people will attend—while masks are not required, they are encouraged.
Other health guidelines will also be requested, including social distancing of at least six feet, and not gathering in large groups while strolling downtown. The event is celebrating Independent Retailer Month and will include free totes filled with recipes, coupons and bingo cards.
