Medical issue factor in Cadiz Road crash

A medical emergency caused a wreck on Cadiz Road that sent a Kuttawa man to Jennie Stuart Medical Center for treatment Thursday.

According to the Hopkinsville police report, officers responded to Cadiz Road for reports of a vehicle in the ditch.  Upon arrival, contact was made with the driver 50-year old Steven Schuenemna of Kuttawa, who was reportedly going in and out of consciousness.  He was able to tell officers he was having a medical emergency—he reportedly suffered no injuries from the collision itself.

Investigation determined that he had been traveling west on Cadiz Road when he lost conscious and crossed over the center line before ending up in the ditch.  He was transported to Jennie Stuart Medical Center, where he was reportedly doing well and a doctor confirmed that his passing out was due to a medical condition.
