Hopkinsville fireworks show set for Saturday night

Even though many things have changed about the summer due to COVID-19, the City of Hopkinsville is still putting on the Red, White and Oooh fireworks show Saturday, with social distancing in place.

Chris Jung says people can then enjoy the Fourth of July fireworks on Saturday, starting promptly at 9 p.m. at Ruff Park.

Coordinator Toby Hudson encouraged people to maintain social distancing guidelines and there will be parking available in the Hopkinsville Community College and Christian County High School lots.

There will be no parking allowed at Ruff Park, due to that being the fireworks drop zone.  The event is completely free to attend—due to regulations related to the COVID-19 pandemic, this year’s fireworks display is drive-in only.

New this year, a drone will be flown during the fireworks show, and people can watch the display online from their homes, if they are unable to make it there in person. For more information about the show, contact Parks and Recreation at 270-887-4902.
