Another court date set for man charged with sexual abuse on church bus

A psychological analysis was recently completed on the man accused of sexually abusing a juvenile female on a church bus on Easter Sunday of last year and he appeared virtually in Christian Circuit Court Thursday morning.

Defense Attorney Sands Chewning represents Tyler Frances and told Judge John Atkins that he submitted the report to Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney Stephanie Bolen and he said it’s possible a resolution could be reached in the case.

Judge Atkins scheduled another hearing for the morning of August 5.

Frances had been scheduled to stand trial this week.

Investigation by Hopkinsville police led to the first-degree sexual abuse charge after the alleged victim said Frances ripped off her underwear and inappropriately touched her private areas while both were riding the church bus. Frances was not an employee or affiliated with the church and has pled not guilty in the case.
