Ky. gains 220 COVID-19 cases, Tn. sees highest single day increase

Kentucky gained another 220 cases of COVID-19 from Tuesday to Wednesday, according to an update from Governor Andy Beshear’s Office.

According to a news release, those 220 cases put the overall total at 15,842 since the pandemic began—approximately 4,052 Kentuckians have recovered from the virus.  Currently, around 411,217 coronavirus tests have been performed in Kentucky. Seven more Kentuckians have died, raising that total to 572.

Governor Beshear says, “We’ve got to keep these case numbers under control. We’re doing a good job, but we’ve got to work even harder. We can’t let our guard down when an invisible enemy is still out there.”

The Tennessee Department of Health reported the highest single day gain of positive coronavirus cases from Tuesday to Wednesday with 1,806, putting Tennessee’s total at 45,315—five more deaths puts that total at 609.  Montgomery County is at 493 cases, Robertson County is reporting 792 cases and Stewart County remains at 21 cases.
