Christian County Emergency Management wants the public to be aware of a new emergency alert system that they can sign up for.
Rave Mobile Safety is a free service that allows individuals to sign up for notifications sent from state and local authorities, according to a news release, and it will replace the previous CodeRed system. Emergency alerts can be received via text, phone call or email—residents can register via text message simply by texting the keyword CHRISTIANCOUNTY to 81437. They can also sign up by going online to the Christian County or City of Hopkinsville websites.
It is free to register and Emergency Management Director Randy Graham says, “This service allows for critical communication with the public and provides individuals with the information needed to stay safe or take precautions during hazardous or emergency situations.”
