The Associated Press reported late last night that NBC Sports will be televising this year’s US Open after Fox Sports has decided to opt out of its 12 year contract with the United States Golf Association. Fox landed the USGA contract in 2013 to televise the U.S. Open and U.S. Women’s Open that started in 2015. NBC previously had the TV rights deal with the USGA from 1994 to 2013. The 2020 U.S. Open is scheduled for Winged Foot in New York September 17-20. An official announcement is expected today.
