Mickelson leads at Travelers Championship

Playing his first tournament since turning 50 this month, five-time major champion Phil Mickelson shot a 7-under 63 on Friday in the Travelers Championship to take a one-stroke lead into the weekend. Mickelson was at 13-under 127. Will Gordon, a Vanderbilt University graduate playing on a sponsor’s exemption, is one shot back after a 62 Friday. Nashville’s Brandt Snedeker is at four under while Louisville area native Justin Thomas missed the cut. Two more players withdrew because of the coronavirus Friday – Denny McCarthy for a positive test, and Bud Cauley, who tested negative, but decided to pull out after playing alongside McCarthy on Thursday.
