League owners were informed that the NFL plans to hold training camps on time, starting next month, although contingency plans are in place. NFL general counsel Jeff Pash told owners to continue with the original league calendar, including most teams beginning training camps on July 28, with rookies and certain other personnel
reporting earlier. Pash added they are having discussions about the number of preseason games. Multiple-outlets report the NFL could trim exhibition games from four to two per team.
New Orleans Saints safety Malcolm Jenkins is speaking out about the risk of coronavirus and returning to the gridiron. The safety said during his new role on CNN, the sport is “non-essential” and that the virus would need to be “eliminated” before he would feel comfortable playing again. The NFL is currently still planning on having a full season.
