Kentucky has 280 new COVID-19 cases, eight more deaths

Kentucky gained 280 new coronavirus cases Thursday and eight additional deaths.

There are now 14,617 total cases in the commonwealth and 546 deaths. At least 3,719 Kentuckians have recovered from the virus.

Cabinet for Health and Family Services Secretary Eric Friedlander announced that starting Monday, the state will resume visitation at assisted living and personal care homes, group activities of 10 or fewer people in facilities, communal dining and off-site appointments.

Secretary Friedlander says, “Kentuckians have patiently awaited since March 6 for the opportunity to see loved ones in long-term care facilities again – in person. We are pleased to say that plans are in place to ease back into certain activities.”

Starting July 15, visitation will resume in nursing homes and in intermediate care facilities for individuals with intellectual disabilities.

Tennessee had another big jump with 799 new cases and 11 additional deaths. Montgomery County gained six cases to 413, Robertson County added seven cases to 729 and Stewart County remained at 19.
