Voting in this most unusual primary election continues until 6 p.m. and the day has been moving along smoothly in our area.
The James E. Bruce Convention Center is the only location for in-person voting in Christian County and Elections Coordinator Melinda Humphries says they were able to move quickly through a line at 6 a.m. and 500 people had voted with no major issues in the first four hours.
The two elementary schools are the voting locations in Todd County, where County Clerk Cindy O’Bryan says there were no problems reported.
Just over 3,000 voters cast an absentee ballot prior to the primary in Trigg County and County Clerk Carmen Finley says in-person turnout was light at the EOC and at The Way Christian Youth Center.
Democrats, Republicans and independents or others can vote in the primary in western Kentucky and anyone standing in line at 6 p.m. will be allowed to vote. Final results won’t be known tonight, as absentee ballots postmarked today will be counted and most county clerks won’t release complete totals until June 30.
