A Fort Campbell soldier was killed in a single-vehicle accident Saturday morning in Trigg County and the driver of the car was charged with murder.
Kentucky State Police say 19-year old Christopher Swykert of Melissa, Texas was southbound near the 1.5 mm of The Trace in the LBL area of Trigg County when he failed to negotiate a curve. The car went off the road, struck a tree and overturned onto its top.
A passenger, 19-year old Daniel Kincaid of Houston, Texas, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Trigg County Coroner’s Office. Kincaid was in the Army and stationed at Fort Campbell.
Investigation led to the arrest of Swykert for murder and aggravated DUI. He was lodged in the Christian County Jail.
Trigg County Rescue, the sheriff’s department, EMS and the U.S. Forestry Service assisted at the scene.
