Former Kentucky Secretary of State Alison Lundergan Grimes has endorsed state Representative Charles Booker in the race for the Democratic nomination for U.S. Senate.
Grimes, who ran an unsuccessful campaign against Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell in 2014, sent a tweet Tuesday morning encouraging voters to “elect a new generation of leadership in Kentucky.”
Booker is facing Amy McGrath and Mike Broiher in the primary, with the winner likely to face Senator McConnell in the general election.
