Medical issue likely a factor in Boulevard accident

A medical issue likely led to a single-vehicle accident Tuesday on Fort Campbell Boulevard that sent the driver to the hospital.

A collision report from Hopkinsville police says 50-year old Ronald Hess of Hopkinsville was headed north when he believes he blacked out behind the wheel. His SUV went off the roadway, through an area of grass and jumped a culvert before coming to rest in front of a sign at Gander Park.

Hess was initially unresponsive, but regained consciousness and was taken by EMS to Jennie Stuart Medical Center.
