After 90 days between official shots, the PGA Tour’s Charles Schwab Challenge began this morning in Fort Worth, TX. Colonial member Ryan Palmer hit the first official tee shot of the event at 6:45 this morning. Palmer said he was nervous hitting the opening tee shot, but was honored to do so. Palmer’s tee shot went 297 yards. Kentuckians Justin Thomas and Josh Teater are playing this afternoon.
The PGA Tour Champions Boeing Classic scheduled to be held in August outside of Seattle has been canceled because of the COVID-19 pandemic. This year’s tournament intends to return in 2021. This year’s tournament was set to be the 16th playing of the only professional golf event held annually in the state.
