MLB players offer new proposal to owners

The MLB Players’ Association has a new counterproposal for starting the 2020 season. The measure calls for an 89-game season with salaries at a full prorated share. The owners proposed a 76-game schedule covering up to 75-percent of the players’ prorated salaries on Monday. The union proposal has the season starting July 10th and ending on October 11th and expanding the postseason to 16 teams for 2020 and 2021. While MLB is projected to nix the proposal, it brings the two sides closer to an agreement with the previous union proposal of 114 games.
