CCHD offering Safe Sitter, Safe at Home programs virtually

Although COVID-19 has been the Christian County Health Department’s main focus in recent months, they too are beginning to return to normal with summer programming available.

One of those programs, that will take place via a Zoom conference this year, is the department’s popular Safe Sitter course, which teaches older children who may start babysitting how to do so safely.  Amanda Sweeney says by doing it through Zoom, they don’t have to cap the number of participants.

She says its $30 to participate and they ask that people register through the CCHD website.

A new program offered this year is the Safe at Home class, which would help younger children learn how to be safe and make good decisions as they begin to stay home alone.

That program will also take place on Zoom, and those interested can also register online. For more information about those educational programs, or about other services offered by the health department, call them at 270-887-4160.
