Kentucky sees 289 more confirmed cases of COVID-19

Kentucky saw 289 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 from Thursday to Friday, bringing the state total up to 10,977.

That’s according to a news release from Governor Andy Beshear’s Office, which also announced that eight more Kentuckians have died, bringing that total to 466 since the pandemic began.  One of those deaths was a healthcare worker in a long term care facility, making them the third healthcare worker to die from COVID-19 in the state.

Governor Beshear says, “Remember, COVID-19 is still out there spreading aggressively and it can be lethal. Let’s make sure we’re keeping our social distance, let’s make sure we’re wearing masks and let’s protect one another.”

On Friday, the Governor also signed an executive order that extends previous orders allowing pharmacists to dispense 30-day refills, and signed an executive order prohibiting price-gouging, extending a previous order.
