HPD: Two arrested with stolen gun

Two men were arrested Thursday night after a stolen gun was allegedly found in their vehicle during a traffic stop.

Hopkinsville police pulled over 18-year old Austin Wetenkamp of Hopkinsville at West Seventh Street and South O’Neal Avenue after he allegedly disregarded a stop sign, with a report saying a 9 mm pistol that had been reported stolen in Christian County was located inside the vehicle.

Wetenkamp and his passenger, 26-year old Najahwan Wills of Hopkinsville, were both arrested for receiving a stolen firearm. Wills was additionally charged with possession of a handgun by a convicted felon and possession of marijuana, as police say the marijuana was found on his person.
