Woman injured in Madisonville accident

Madisonville police investigated an accident Tuesday morning that injured one of the drivers.

It happened just after 10 a.m. and a news release says 44-year old Anthony Bowles of Madisonville was eastbound on East Center Street and that he saw traffic stopped ahead at the Interstate 69 interchange.

The cargo in his vehicle shifted as he tried to stop, causing a paint roller extension pole to become lodged on the gas pedal.

Bowles’ efforts to stop were unsuccessful and he rear-ended a vehicle operated by 55-year old Regina Baxter of Madisonville.

Baxter was transported by ambulance to Baptist Health Hospital for treatment of possible injuries.
