College Football
The College Football Hall of Fame is delaying the release of its ballot for the Class of 2021. It was due to come out today, but has been pushed back until next Tuesday after the College Hall of Fame in Atlanta sustained damage from violent protestors over the weekend. The Class of 2021 will be revealed early next year.

Clemson star wide receiver Justyn Ross will have back surgery this week and is expected to miss the entire upcoming season. The likely first-round pick in next year’s NFL draft has a bulging disk and discovered he has had a congenital fusion of vertebrae since birth only after getting injured in offseason workouts in March. Ross made a team-leading 66 catches last season.

NBA

The NBA is finalizing details of its restart plan before Thursday’s vote by the Board of Governors. A 75-percent vote from all 30 clubs is needed to pass the plan, which features 22 teams and play-in scenarios to get to a final 16-team playoff bracket. Some small markets say every team needs to play.

Soccer

ESPN reports Major League Soccer has reportedly set a deadline tomorrow for the Players Association to lockout the players if they do not accept the league’s proposal. The MLS said it has made its final offer. The owners rejected the union’s counterproposal regarding changes to the collective bargaining agreement that included salary cuts and agreeing to play in a tournament in the Orlando-area without fans. Players reportedly responded by not showing for voluntary workouts yesterday.

NASCAR

Noah Gragson squeezed past JR Motorsports teammate Justin Allgaier with four laps left, a move that caused Allgaier to crash, and Gragson held on at Bristol Motor Speedway for his second Xfinity win of the season last night. Gragson had to race Chase Briscoe and Brandon Jones in a two-lap overtime finish but beat them both to claim the checkered flag.
