Phase 1 of reopening Hopkinsville’s parks began Monday.
Reopening began with green spaces, pavilions at DeBow Recreational Complex and Ruff Park, restrooms, disc golf courses at DeBow and Trail of Tears Park, the Skatepark, the Recreation Department, Second Street Community Building and the Sportsplex.
All rentals and usage remain limited to 10 people or less to comply with state guidelines. All outdoor basketball courts remain closed until August, as required by the state.
Phase 2, scheduled for June 15, will reopen tennis courts and select playgrounds. Phase 3, set for July 1, will begin expanding group sizes to at least 50.
All Sportsplex activities, including basketball shoot-arounds, batting cages and indoor cornhole, are currently by appointment-only.
