Local Habitat for Humanity merges with Hopkins, Webster counties

The local Habitat for Humanity organization has merged with Hopkins and Webster counties to become Habitat for Humanity Pennyrile Region.

It will be headquartered at the Madisonville restore on S. Daves Street and the Hopkinsville office remains on Walnut Street.

Executive Director Heath Duncan says Pennyrile Habitat combines the strength, resources and expertise of the three communities to build more homes.

Duncan says there will be an emphasis on fundraising so more homes can be built for families in need.

One of those ways they fundraise is through Project American Flag where Habitat Volunteers place flags in front of homes before six holidays each year at a cost of $60.

The phone number to call to sign up for the program or for more information on Habitat is 270-885-8222.

Pennyrile Habitat is currently building a home in Mortons Gap in partnership with Anthony and Kara Burrows and their five children.
