A Hopkins County man was one of 13 deaths related to COVID-19 reported by Governor Andy Beshear Saturday.
The information came in a news release that says the Hopkins County man was 70-years old.
There were 247 new cases of COVID-19 reported in Kentucky from Friday to Saturday, bringing the overall total to 9,704. It’s the second consecutive day of large numbers of new cases and the governor notes a closer review of Friday’s data shows a large portion of those cases were in long-term care facilities and in the federal prison in Lexington.
About 65,800 Kentuckians were tested in the last week, believed to be the most for a single week since the pandemic began.
