Todd Co. reports three additional cases of COVID-19

The Todd County Health Department is reporting three new confirmed case of COVID-19, bring their total up to 22.

According to a news release, seven of those 22 cases are considered ‘active’ and 15 people have recovered from the virus.  One patient is a direct contact of another Todd County case and is currently showing no symptoms—they have been instructed to self-isolate for at least 14 days.  The patient, who is a healthy adult, has had multiple contacts at work, who have been notified.

The two other patients are currently being hospitalized with moderate to severe symptoms, with only one them being a direct contact to another case.  The health department is in the process of contact all direct contacts.

Public Health Director Jen Harris says this is another indicator of how contagious this virus can be, and the importance of being tested even when you don’t have symptoms.  She urges people to continue practicing good hygiene and social distancing measures.
