Public library summer reading program going online

The Hopkinsville-Christian County Public Library is going virtual with their summer reading program this year and it officially kicks off Tuesday.

Youth Services Librarian Jennifer Annis-Domenech appeared on WHOP recently and says while it is going online, the summer reading program will still be the same fun it’s been in the past.  She says participants can download the ‘beanstack’ app and make an account through the library.

She says readers of all ages can participate for a chance to win prizes for reading.

Each age group has different goals and rewards that can be earned based on the amount of time spent reading. Annis-Domenech says there will raffle prizes, ranging from gift cards to tablets to toys.

The summer reading program concludes on July 11, and the library is also offering grab and go activities every Tuesday and Thursday between 8 -12 noon, now through July 9. Additional virtual activities may be accessible on social media throughout the summer.
