Local officials are reminding that contractors for the Hopkinsville Surface and Stormwater Utility expect to close West Seventh Street at the Hipkins Street intersection near Kentucky Avenue on Tuesday.
According to a news release, the intersection is scheduled to be closed again for two weeks beginning June 1 and lasting through June 12. The project is to allow for resolving of flooding issues in that area and is being completed by the Hopkinsville Surface and Stormwater Utility in partnership with the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet.
Motorists are urged to not use residential side streets as detours. There will be marked recommending to use North Drive and Sanderson Drive as well as North and South Main Streets.
