Dawson Springs man charged with meth trafficking, importing fentanyl

The Madisonville-Hopkins County Vice Narcotics Unit has arrested a Dawson Springs man and arrested him on trafficking charges related to methamphetamine and fentanyl.

According to a news release, officers have been investigating a large scale drug trafficker in the western Kentucky area since 2019 and on Friday, they apprehended 41-year old Adam Hays of Dawson Springs. A search was done on a residence in Madisonville where Hays was staying and it reportedly revealed what is described as a ‘significant’ amount of methamphetamine, along with a large sum of money, a revolver and a stolen vehicle.

He was also reportedly in possession of a large amount of fentanyl, which was brought in from out of state. Hays was charged with trafficking in meth, importing fentanyl, receiving stolen property and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The investigation is still ongoing.
