Todd Fiscal Court approved a new speed limit for Britmart Road at Friday’s meeting and discussed reopening procedures for county offices.
Todd County Emergency Management Director Daniel Smith gave a rundown of the health guidelines and procedures, including how the Todd County Courthouse will reopen to the public. The courthouse will reopen to the public on June 1st, with measures to allow for social distancing, disinfecting of surfaces and restricting the public to use one point of entry and one point of exit. Smith says they also have an adequate amount of PPE available to reopen.
The plan is for fiscal court meetings to resume in the courthouse, but for them also to be aired online for the public to view. Visitors to fiscal court meetings will be limited to 15 with a specific seating arrangement to allow for appropriate space.
County Attorney Jeff Traughber says the Sheriff has turned over delinquent tax bills, which he was glad to see haven’t seemed to have increased much due to the pandemic.
In other action, magistrates approved an ordinance on second-reading that sets the speed limit on Britmart Road starting at the Christian County line and going to Butler Road at 45 miles per hour. Judge Executive Todd Mansfield says they will present the budget for second-reading and approval at the June 12 meeting.
