HPD: Man struck victim with a handgun

A Hopkinsville man has been charged with wanton endangerment and assault for allegedly striking a woman with a handgun in an incident that occurred Thursday.

According to an arrest warrant from the Hopkinsville Police Department, 35-year old Wendell Scott of Hopkinsville is alleged to have brandished a handgun at a female victim and then striking her with it.  He also allegedly pushed her into a table and struck her with a fist.

When another person attempted to intervene, Scott allegedly struck her in the chest with a closed fist.  Scott was arrested and charged with first-degree wanton endangerment and two counts of fourth-degree assault.
