The Rotary Club of Hopkinsville is helping to make sure the graduating class of 2020 is still getting the recognition they deserve.

Every year, the club donates around $500 to go towards Project Graduation, which was cancelled this year due to the ongoing pandemic.  Rotary President Trent Haddock says this year it was a little more than that, and the money was split between the four local high schools to help support those seniors.

The money is part of what is raised during the Rotary Radio Auction every year and Haddock says the money could help pay for yearbooks, caps and gowns, senior road signs or whatever is needed for those seniors to get what they need.

Haddock says it’s thanks to the community giving during that auction, which has moved to September this year, that the club is able to do services like this.

The Rotary Auction will take place September 14 through the 19 and Haddock says they’re hopeful the have another successful auction this year, no matter when it’s held.
