According to reports, the NCAA Division One Council approved yesterday allowing student-athletes back on campus on June 1st. Sources say players will be able to return voluntarily beginning with members of the football and men’s and women’s basketball teams, with other sports to be green-lighted at a later date. Each conference will be given the option of making its own decision for a timeline on each sport’s return.
It appears the one time transfer rule without sitting out for a season is a dead issue at least for now. Stadium reports the NCAA Division One Council approved a resolution to study the issue and develop legislation regarding transfer eligibility to be discussed in January, 2021 for the 2021-22 academic year.
