Fort Campbell’s 531st Hospital Center is fully home from New York and about to come out of quarantine, and COVID-19 cases associated with the post continue to decline.
Fort Campbell and 101st Airborne Division Commander Major General Brian Winksi gave an update on the numbers during a virtual Town Hall Tuesday and says the good news is only one active duty Fort Campbell solider has the virus and they are recovering.
He says the majority of the installation has returned to business as usual, many with health guidelines in place, and operations are also resuming.
Soldiers with the 531st Hospital Center come out of quarantine Thursday and Maj. Gen. Winski says they’re eager to return to their families and they intend to have a ceremony for them.
There will not be a virtual town hall on Tuesday and Maj. Gen. Winksi urged everyone to take a moment on Memorial Day to remember the military service men and woman who paid the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.
