This year’s class of Leadership Hopkinsville-Christian County was cut off because of the COVID-19, but now they’re starting to gear up for next year.
Leadership Coordinator Candra Barnett appeared on WHOP Tuesday and says that the 2020 class was unable to complete their last session or have the graduation that usually occurs. She says they hope to be able to provide some sort of graduation later in the year, and maybe come back with this class for that final event.
She says their class project—renovating the patio at the public library—will still take place, but at a later date.
Barnett says although what the next session might look like is uncertain due to the pandemic, they are accepting applications, which can be found on the Christian County Chamber of Commerce website.
The cost to participate in the adult leadership program is $600, or $550 for Chamber of Commerce members. All events and meetings are mandatory—for both programs—so people are requested to check their schedules and the requirements before committing. There is also a youth leadership program and it is $60 for students to participate.
