Cerulean woman injured in December crash dies

A Cerulean woman who was critically injured in a December collision that killed her daughter, died Monday due to injuries sustained in the crash.

Thirty-two year old Misty Quarles of Cerulean passed away at Vanderbilt University Medical Center from her injuries, according to an obituary from Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home, where arrangements are incomplete. The collision occurred on Princeton Road on December 23, 2019.

As previously reported, Quarles was operating a vehicle on Princeton Road when another vehicle entered in her lane and the two collided. The truck then went over a bridge and onto a creek bed. Misty Quarles, 11-year old Alexia Trump, 34-year old Marcus Quarles and another juvenile were all taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center for treatment of injuries. The driver of the car, 35-year old Robert Jackson of Marion, was also injured and taken to an area hospital.

Trump, a Sinking Fork student, would later die of her injuries.
