A juvenile suspect has been arrested in connection with the shooting of a teenager on Evergreen Park Drive that occurred Sunday in Hopkinsville.
According to a news release from the Hopkinsville Police Department, police responded to Jennie Stuart Hospital for a juvenile that had been shot multiple times—with what witnesses say appeared to be a BB gun—and it was reported that the victim had been shot while trying to break up a fight on Evergreen. The victim was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
Investigation into the incident led to the arrest of a juvenile suspect, who was charged with first-degree assault. The suspect, who is not named, is lodged in the McCracken County Juvenile Detention Center.
