Clarksville man arrested following pursuit in Christian Co.

Kentucky State Police have arrested a Clarksville man following a pursuit in Christian County Saturday evening.

Troopers were patrolling in the area of the 89 mile marker of I-24 around 7:15 p.m. Saturday, according to a news release, which says a vehicle was observed traveling at a high rate of speed.  A traffic stop was initiated, but the driver allegedly accelerated, fleeing.  The pursuit went onto the Pennyrile Parkway and around the 5 mile marker, a tire deflation device was successfully deployed.

The driver of the vehicle, 28-year old Bobby Britton of Clarksville II of Clarksville, reportedly exited the Pennyrile Parkway at Fort Campbell Boulevard and stopped in a gas station parking lot.

Britton was taken into custody and charged with fleeing or evading police, possession of marijuana and speeding.
