Local man charged with first-degree wanton endangerment

Hopkinsville police have charged a local man with wanton endangerment after he allegedly pointed a firearm at people during an altercation early Saturday morning.

According to the police report, 31-year old Donta Bailey of Hopkinsville was observed in a vehicle on Moores Drive while a physical fight was taking place. He was reportedly seen by multiple witness removing an AR-15 from the trunk of his vehicle, which he then allegedly pointed in the direction of several individuals.

Witnesses told officers Bailey had created a substantial danger of physical injury to them and others around them.

Bailey was arrested, charged with first-degree wanton endangerment and lodged in the Christian County Jail.
